Mud Lake

Mud Lake, previously known as Muddy Lake and Grand Village, was settled more than 150 years ago. The first families found good anchorage, shelter and fishing, excellent timber and sandy soil which was easily worked for gardens. The location was well placed on the routes to the trapping areas of both the Mealy Mountains and the upper Grand (Hamilton, Churchill) River.
