the Boreal and the Black-capped. The only real difference between the two is that the Boreal has a brown cap, whereas the Black- capped has, you guessed it, a black cap. They are a small, black and white or brown and white bird, found in all areas of the Mississagi and which can be seen during all seasons of the year. The chickadee is among the most common bird seen on the feeders during the winter, fall, spring and summer. When you hear a Chickadee, you are guaranteed to know because it calls out its own name. Chick - a - dee - dee - dee - dee. Some of the Chickadees in the area are rather tame, making it quite common to see people feeding them out of their hands. They can be spotted in coniferous, mixed and deciduous forests.
