Juncos
There are two types of Juncos in the area: the Slate-colored and the Oregon. Both are commonly referred to as the Northern Junco, although this bird most likely doesn't even exist. Both the Slate-coloured and the Oregon Junco are the same size and have slate-grey heads. The only defining difference is that the Oregon has dashes of rusty brown color on its sides, back and wings. Their song is a lot like a sparrow's, but more cheerful and chipper. They feed mainly on seeds and insects, and can be spotted in mixed forests, in the winter in open woods, in undergrowth, along roadsides, and frequently at feeders.
