Silver Star tutor
Silver Star   CL-30 Tutor   CL-41

Near the end of World War II, Canadair built a jet trainer for pilots called the Silver Star. Built from two halves, split vertically from nose to tail, the CL-30 also became an aerobatic plane.

In 1956 Canadair began what has been called their "most ambitious" project. As opposed to adapting another company's airplane to suit their needs - they began the design of an indigenous jet trainer known as the Tutor.
