      For many years, one of Canadair's responsibilities has been the evaluation of potential aircraft for purchase by the Canadian Government for the RCAF.

    In many cases, Canadair has been tasked with adapting designs to fit Canadian needs. The T-33, F-86, F-5 and F-104 were all built under license from American Companies and modified to suit RCAF requirements.

    In some cases, such as the CL-84 Dynavert and the CL-41 Tutor, Canadair designed and built aircraft from the ground up.
