  Explore the origins of Chilliwack through the eyes of the Kipp family. This program is presented in two parts:

Chilliwack Through Time
A game board and teachers guide are delivered to your classroom one week prior to the Programmer's visit. The activity guide includes an oral history interview sheet, time line exercise and pictorial game. This section is presented by the teacher as a pre-visit lesson.
Early Community Life; A Kipp Family Perspective
The Museum Programmer's visit to your classroom will include a 20 minute slide presentation, artifact interpretation and butter making. This program is guaranteed to use all your senses.

Prescribed Learning Outcomes of the Social Studies Curriculum

It is expected that students will:

  • Describe ways members of a community meet one another's needs
  • Describe the historical development of various B.C. communities
  • Understand the use and value of money as a means of exchange
  • Describe ways in which communities are interdependent
  • Describe the development of various B.C. communities in relation to their location and availability of resources
  • Describe how technology affects individuals and communities
