'Hand Games'
is based on the traditional game played by the Athapaskan peoples
otherwise known as the Dene. This game has been played for thousands
of years during the cold winters and hot summers. Families gathered
around in the evening to watch 2 teams of men play facing each other
while the local drummers lined up behind them drumming & singing
to the beat of the game. This is a fast game with many traditional
hand signals used to communicate.
*Turn the volume up to listen to the real drummers.

Dog sleds were
and are still used as a means of transportation across the North.
For many years it has been a strong tradition to race dog sled teams;
these races are either short distances or can last for weeks at
a time.
While racing in this game the player must collect all the ingredients
to make Bannock, while avoiding logs & broken ice - real northern
obstacles!
