Born in 1922 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Molly Lamb Bobak became the first woman to be officially designated as a Canadian War Artist. Originally joining the services as a private in 1924, Molly was promoted to a lieutenant and eventually settled in Fredericton as artist-in-residence at the University of New Brunswick. Continuing to work and exhibit, Molly was awarded Honorary degrees by the university of New Brunswick (1983) and Mount Allison University (1984). |
