Washing Bowl:
This bowl was an
important utensil for doctors. It helped clean open wounds, wash away bacteria and helped
to generally maintains proper hygiene.

Another one of the doctors
instrument. They would have aided in some minor surgery and would have also been used to
removed small objects from the skin and body.
Bottles of Medicine:
These bottles contain
different medicines, to give to the patients that were ill. Many of the medicines would
have been mixed by the doctor himself!
Eye dropper:
This utensil was used to
measure amounts of medicine given to patients. It aided in distributing medicine with the
right dosage.
Mortar and Pestle:
One of the many instruments
used by doctors. It was used for grinding and mixing medicine for his patients. This was a
very important tool as it helped to ensure the medicine was mixed correctly.
Scale:
An instrument used by doctors
for weighing an assortment of different objects.
Bandages:
The method used to patch up
cuts, burns, and other serious wounds to the human body. The bandages in those days were
mere adhesive cloths. |
