Atwater
Kent Model 35:
This desktop radio was
built in 1926, a later model of Atwater Kent. It was battery operated and required 3
different batteries; a 6 volt, a 9 volt and a 22 ½ volt. It is a Tune Radio Frequency or
a TRF and has one dial tuning. It sounds quite different from our radios today, which are
either plugged into the wall or battery powered. The Atwater Kent company was in business
from 1922 to 1927, until the Great Depression wiped it out and it was bought by another
company. |
