The Electric Platten press was one of the first electric printing presses.  Although it was one of the fastest of its time, it was also very dangerous. Many a printer lost fingers among other things to this machine. This machine was able to print more than 100 papers a day which would have been extraordinary for that time. The operator that used this machine would have had to wear tight clothing so that it would not get caught in the machine. This machine was the best printing press of its time and stayed the best until the Linotype printing press technology was developed.
