Check out this map that would have been hanging in the classroom. It is so old that British Colonies are highlighted in pink. There are also countries that are completely missing and many with different names! This map uses a mercator’s projection. This projection method was developed by a man named Gerardus Mercator and was used for many of the first maps ever made. It is amazing to see how much changes in less than 70 years, don’t you think?
