Another room in the train station is the waiting room.
It is right next to the station master's office so that he can sell the tickets. The
waiting room was where passengers could spend their time comfortably while they waited for
the train to arrive. In addition, travelers would set down their luggage for the station
master to load it on the train. In the waiting room there were 
benches for people to sit on, a game table to entertain
the passengers and a stove to keep them warm if
they were waiting for a train during the winter. There was also a spittoon for the many people who chewed tobacco.
