The Durrant Car: This car, a Durrant,
was made in the 1930s. It may look like every other car on the road at
the time, but this was more than just a family car. This Durrant was a luxury car which
not everyone could afford. Driving around in this car would show that you were very
wealthy and could afford such luxury. It looks like the cars that you might find in a
gangster movie from the 1930s! The museum is very lucky to have such an interesting
artifact!
This car is very
different from cars of today. First of all, there are no seat belts at all. Safety
standards were almost non-existent in the 1930s. There were no airbags, nor any kind of
structural safety precautions. This car was built purely for luxury. |
