- Explore the meaning of culture as part of their
own life stories
- Appreciate the importance of Haudenoshaunee
(Iroquois/Six Nations) in Canada
- Demonstrate respect for people of varying
cultural backgrounds
- Explore their own ancestry by creating a story
about their own ancestors
- Share with the class stories of their cultural
heritage, both in listening and presenting
- Research stories from Southern Ontario, in Canada
- Use the Internet (with assistance of the teacher)
to connect to Web sites that contain information
on the groups in question
- Use literature to develop an appreciation of the
Haudenoshaunee in Canada
