Although the church was built under the influence of European architecture and French missionaries, the building has maintained its original function over the years. As seen in the photographs taken by the University of British Columbia architectural students, the Church of the Holy Cross was inactive in the early 1980's. However, it is currently being used for Sunday masses and weddings. The exact date of restoration is not known; however, the church is currently in great condition, maintaining its original features of Gothic Revival Architecture.
