The building of a Roman Catholic church in the middle of the wilderness of B.C. in the early 1900's, is part of the establishment of missionaries and the conversion of Natives to become Catholic.

The Church of the Holy Cross demonstrates the stylistic differences between Native culture and art to that of the Europeans. Some of the specific details of the building show this cross culture, a combination of French and Native craftsmanship.
