Something made from copying the original.

resin:
Solid or semisolid substance, obtained from plants or in the lab by chaining molecules together. Used in medicine and for paint and varnish. Many resins are polymers.

resinous:
Full of or like resin.

retardancy:
The ability to slow down a process. Flame retardancy is the ability to slow down combustion.

retention:
The ability to hold something. e.g. water retention is the ability to hold water.

rhizosphere:
The soil volume surrounding the root.

rice:
Oryza sativa The starchy seeds or grain of a grass, cultivated in warm climates and used for food.

rosemary:
Rosemarinus officinalis. An evergreen shrub, used as a seasoning and a perfume. Native to the Mediterranean region.

rotenone:
C23H22O6. A white crystalline, water-insoluble, poisonous heterocyclic compound, obtained from derris root: used cheifly as the active ingredient of certain insecticides and in medicine in the treatment of chiggers and scabies.
