BUILDING ACTIVE IN HUMBOLDT

The Humboldt Catholic school trustees are receiving tenders for the erection of a commodious new school building. It will be one story high, but built so that it can be raised to two stories, when necessary. The trustees recently purchased an acre, of land from Mr. Clemons Kohle, one block west of the priest's residence, where the new school building will be erected.

The item in our last issue red the purchase of land from the government, etc., was, we regret, hardly correct. Mr. Clemons Kohle has generously donated an entire block to the church, where the new residence for the priest, has been erected.

The trustees of the Humboldt Public School District have decided to erect a large new school building and plans

and specifications are now being drawn up for same. The new building will be 32 x 40, two storeys high and will have a 7 foot stone foundation. It will be erected on the school section where three acres was recently acquired for this purpose.

J. J. Stiegler has under course of erection a large addition to his store premises on Main street.

John Schaeffer is erecting quite a large addition to his butcher shop on Livingston street. He has also installed a gasoline engine to run the meat chopper.

The work of putting in the cement foundation for Ritz & Yoerger's new hardware store is under way.
