C.P.R. WILL BUILD TO HUMBOLDT
The application of the Canadian Pacific Railway for authority to construct a line from Lanigan to Humboldt and thence to Prince Albert, successfully passed the railway committee of the house of Commons last Friday.

The mileage over this line from Regina to Prince Albert will be approximately 210 miles, or 39 miles shorter than the present route over tile Canadian National, through Saskatoon which is 249 miles.

Humboldt is very much interested in this new line, and the news of its successful passage was awaited with interest. It is felt here that the construction of this line may have far reaching

effects on the future of this town.

It will give Humboldt excellent railway service both east and west and north and south, and on a direct line to the capital city of the province, also to Prince Albert, the city of the north and the great northern mining area.

Up to the present no information has been received here as to the probable date when construction on the line will commence. It is understood, however, that the company are anxious to reach Prince Albert just as soon as is possible, and that the line may be built this year, or at least as much as time will permit.
