RSYE is a unique program, certainly in Ottawa, in Ontario and possibly in Canada. RSYE operates as a business, meaning that we pay attention to the "bottom line". We compete head to head with other businesses and organisations for contracts. "Quality" is a high priority, and it has paid off for us in return business.

RSYE is taking on a challenge that very few businesses are willing to address. We employ people that most businesses consider to be unemployable. It means giving chances to people and taking risks. It means creating the supports and the opportunities that allow people to develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility. It means seeing some of our best workers leave as they are ready to return to school, enter a training program or to find employment. That's our definition of "success".
