RSYE Program Components
RSYE provides an opportunity for street-involved youth to work legitimately and to start
to get some work experience on a casual basis. The youth learn about basic work
expectations, such as arriving at a job on time and proper behaviour in the workplace.
They also learn that the quality of their work must be acceptable to the customer before
they will be paid. Over time, the staff get to know the youth and attempt to provide
opportunities for the more consistent performers to fill positions that demand more
responsibility.
RSYE provides an important service to the business community by providing a flexible
labour force that can respond to their needs, providing quality service at a reasonable
cost.
