The Rodrigue House

no The Rodrigue residence was rented from the neighbouring military captain, Michel de Gannes. The property consisted of Michel Rodrigue's private home and a storehouse.

The private residence was the common charpente style construction. It was framed with heavy wooden timbers joined with wooden pegs. The spaces between the timbers were filled with rubblestone.

The storehouse was constructed in the piquet style. Its walls were constructed of upright wooden posts set in the ground and held together by braces. The spaces between the posts were caulked with moss, clay, earth or straw. It was in this building that all of Rodrigue's trade merchandise was held.
