Mr. and Mrs. John H. MacIntyre and family, Viola, Frank, Herbert, and Isabel, arrived in Lumby in May of 1913 from Cavell, Saskatchewan. He also had a small shoe repair business in the building where Dooley had a confectionery store, north of Marcel's Esso.

They then moved to Vernon but returned to Lumby in 1926 where he operated a fox farm with his son Herb. Viola married Dr. Brown, a dentist. Herb married a school teacher from Salmon Arm, Kathleen Eckland. Frank died at the age of nine, and Isabel died at eighteen months.
