"The Gentians in all gardens in bloom and particularly along the older part of the Gentian Walk. Sitting on the bench at the end of this Walk the picture has been entrancing for days. First the magnificent royal blue of the Gentians and with them full in the eye the lavender blue of the Estevan Irises in broad bands in the Shrubbery about - with there too the splendid pink of Elizabeth Envers Tulip and some yellow still from the Daffodils at the back."
