1930 - C.M. Finch General Merchandise and Farm Utilities Store was built on the corner of what would become main street and centre avenue in Fort St. John. The town would eventually grow up all around him. Of note are the Peace River gumbo streets and the board sidewalks, things visitors to the area didn't soon forget!
