Members of the Beaver Nation from Moberly Lake at Fort St. John. Trade with the First Nations peoples of the North Peace was an integral part of the development of the area. Posts were established in different locales to serve the members of different Nations. Rocky Mountain Portage House (now Hudson's Hope) was Established in 1805 for trade with the Sekani while Fort D'Epinette (Fort of St. John's) was used by the Beaver.
