October 7, 1957 - George McMahon addressing the crowd at the opening ceremonies for the Westcoast Transmission pipeline in Taylor. A dream sought for years, the gas pipeline was finally completed and turned on amid much celebration. Peace River gas was on its way to Vancouver. George McMahon headed Westcoast Transmission and his brother Frank McMahon was the man behind Pacific Petroleum and the establishment of a processing plant in Taylor.
