It was a long time coming but the North Peace finally welcomed the railroad in June l958. The Pacific Great Eastern Railway arrived in Taylor to much celebration. Later that same year, in October, the railway was extended and service to Fort St. John was finally a reality, thus expanding the opportunities for industrial development in the area.
