1958 - Grain elevators under construction in Fort St. John. Finally the railway came to Fort St. John in October 1958 thereby creating an outlet for grain and a need for elevators. Previous to this, North Peace farmers had to haul their crops to elevators in Dawson Creek, a very time consuming thing to have to do.
