Roman Catholic Mission

Roman Catholic Mission
1966 - Father Emile Jungbluth, OMI, is shown standing in front of the remains of the Roman Catholic Mission at the Old Fort. This was the last building to be left standing on the site and burned down in 1976. Father Youngblood, as he was more commonly known, ministered to a good number of people in the North and South Peace for a number of years. He traveled between First Nations Reservations and other churches on his motorcycle and was a familiar sight for all residents. Speaking five languages, including Beaver and Cree, Father Jungbluth was very accomplished in his ministering.
