Taylor Railway Bridge

Temporary bridge deck
After the collapse of the bridge at Taylor in 1957, crossing the Peace River was possible on the Pacific Great Eastern Railway bridge. A temporary deck was created by laying planks down on the track and stoplights were erected to control traffic. The trains shared the one lane bridge with motor vehicles until construction on the new bridge was complete in 1960.
