Object Name: Canoe

Description: Canoe model with 4 dolls and equipment: canoe is of birchbark, with thin wood sheathing, wood ribs, and 7 wood cross bars. There is inner and outer gunwale construction of wood, and gunwales and bark are bound with split roots in groups of 6-7's stitches. Gunwale is capped with a thin piece of wood which is attached with wooden pegs. The crossbars are fitted into the inner gunwale, and split root stitches pass through a hole at either end of each bar, on the exterior, seams are sealed with spruce gum.
