Vernon took Ogopogo for its own last night when manager of radio station CJIB A. Gilbert Seabrook presented city council with the copyright. It was dated June 1953, serial number 102337. Mr. Seabrook personally copyrighted the name of Ogopogo two years ago.

Said Mayor Franck Becker, "Mr. Seabrook has shown himself a true citizen. This is a wonderful gesture, well timed, as it will settle the dispute between Kelowna and Vernon as to who owns Ogopogo."

The Mayor noted that the name "Ogopogo" which will be mentioned in such publicity has been copy righted in the name of the citizens of Vernon under Serial No. 102327, Assignment No. 21709.
