Additional Info: "Emma David at Polly's Point, Port Alberni, weaving shopping basket of grass and cedar bark on a wooden frame using the wrapped, twined technique. The box to her right contains plain and dyed grass and an oval wood grass splitter with a pair of cutting blades to trim the grass to an even width. Before the grass is used for weaving it is soaked in water to make it more pliable." The Nootkan Indian: A Pictorial. p. 60. |
