"Emma David at Polly's Point, Port Alberni, weaving shopping basket of grass and cedar bark on a wooden frame using the wrapped, twined technique. The box to her right contains plain and dyed grass and an oval wood grass splitter with a pair of cutting blades to trim the grass to an even width. Before the grass is used for weaving it is soaked in water to make it more pliable."
