SALMON LIFE CYCLE

1. Alevins hatch in the spring.
2. Fry emerge from the gravel.
3. Smots migrate downstream.
4. Enter the Pacific Ocean.
5. And grow to maturity in the ocean.
6. Silvery fish enter the rivers and head for the spawning areas.
7. Change in form and color as they advance.
8. In the fall spawning salmon deposit eggs in gravel nests and die.
