Manufacturer: Limoges Porcelain.
Manufacturer: Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot (GDA), Mark 1, underglaze white ware. Mark in green, ca. 1900-1941.
Mark: GDA, France
Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot (GDA), became partners in 1900 when Abbot joined Gerard, and Dufraisseix. Abbot had been connected with the company's import operations in New York City. The back mark of the firm changed at that time to include Abbot's initials.
The company was also known as porcelaines GDA.
The company continued to use the Charles Field Haviland decorating mark of the earlier GDM company until about 1941. At that time, the mark (see Mark 3) was sold to the Charles Field Haviland. The decorating mark used by GDA seems to be always in red, rather than the older colors used by his predecessor, GDM.
After 1941, Mark 4 has been used by GDA.
The company is still in operation.
The company manufactured white wares, table china, decorative accessories, and art objects.
The firm is noted to have made porcelain art objects for the L'Art Nouveau firm of Samuel Bing in Paris during the early 1900's.
