Levi and Salaman who were electroplaters and silversmiths in 1870, absorbed the Potoi Silver Company in 1878.
It was succeeded by Barker Bros. Silversmiths Ltd.. Unity Works, Birmingham, England between 1915 and 1927.
On October 19, 1886 they registered a U.S. Patent for plated silver on white metal.
The Potosi Silver Company name was probably derived from the Potosi Mine, discovered in 1545 in the area that was later to be named Bolivia.
