Acquisition- adding an artifact to a collection
Aesthetic- pleasing to the eye
Album- a collection of musical compositions, pictures,
or literary selections
Analyze- examine in steps to get a better understanding

Artifacts- an object produced or shaped by a human,
especially a tool, a weapon, or an ornament of archaeological
or historical interest
Archaeology- the study of artifacts
Background- the ground or scenery located behind
something
Bodice- the fitted part of a dress that extends
from the waist to the armpits
Clue- something that serves to guide or direct
in the solution of a problem or mystery
Collection- a group of objects or works to be
seen, studied, or kept together
Corset- a close-fitting undergarment, worn to
support and shape the waistline, hips, and breasts
Curator- one that manages or oversees, a museum
collection or a library
Database- a collection of information arranged
for ease and speed of search
Exhibit- to put something on public display
Foreground- the part of a scene or picture that
is nearest to and in front of the viewer
Formal- something, such as a gown or social affair,
that is meant for special occasions
Gallery- a place for displaying a collection
Geographic- concerning the details of a specific
region
Gown- a long, usually formal dress for a woman
Historic site- a place that is studied for history
or past events
History- the branch of knowledge that records
and researches past events
Household- a home consisting of the members of
a family who live together which may include nonrelatives
such as servants
Immigrant- a person who leaves one country to
settle permanently in another
Immigration- to enter and settle in a country
or region where you were not born
Milestone- an important event, as in a person's
career, the history of a nation, or the advancement of
knowledge in a field; a turning point
Perspective- a point of view
Rare- something uncommon or not often found
Research- a close, careful study
Social class- a collection of people with similar position; social class is usually measured by education, occupation, and income
Sociological- the study of human behavior, especially the study of the origins, organization, and development of humans
Victorian- relating to or belonging to the period
of the reign of Queen Victoria (1819-1901)
