The Great War of 1914-1918 Like many communities throughout Canada, Regina responded to the recruiting drives for the war effort. Those that did not join the forces stayed at home and helped the effort by producing food and supplies for the war effort and assisting in the recovery of the wounded returning home from overseas. Following the end of war the people of Regina redirected their efforts towards assisting the people of Europe in their recovery from the devastation of the great conflict.
