Hunting has lost a lot of the freedom that typified the early days. Snuneymuxw hunters still go after deer, elk and ducks. Fish, clams, and other marine foods are also harvested. Today we need licenses to hunt, fish and harvest other marine foods, whereas we didn't need these licenses before. Below, freshly caught salmon in a smokehouse on the reserve.
