About the Project

The Streets of Regina and The History Behind Their Names is a New Media production sponsored by Industry Canada and contracted through CBAS Services Ltd. in co-operation with Hinterland Productions and InfinityJoy Studios. The photographic material used to develop this digital collection was selected by the CBAS Digital Collection Team from photo images held by both Hinterland Productions and InfinityJoy Studios. These collections were accumulated as a result of past projects undertaken by both Hinterland Productions and InfinityJoy Studios.

The project aims to serve four main purposes;

  1. To provide young people with practical working experience in conceptualizing, researching and designing a New Media production.
  2. To increase public awareness of Regina’s diverse and colourful history
  3. To help raise awareness of Canada’s growing New Media industry
  4. To help the people of Regina prepare for their city's 100th year anniversary in the year 2003.
