Lloyd Bay and Crescent:

Named after Mr. Woodrow S. Lloyd, Saskatchewan’s ninth Premier who served from 1961 to 1964. Mr. Lloyd was first elected in 1944 and represented the constituency of Biggar, Saskatchewan. At the age of 30 he was appointed Minister of Education in the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) Government, making him the youngest Cabinet Minister of the time. During his time in office Woodrow Lloyd instituted a wide number of reforms and innovations to Saskatchewan’s education system. He became the Leader of the CFF in 1962 and later the Leader of the Official Opposition in 1964. Lloyd remained at the Legislative Assembly until his retirement in 1971.

Woodrow S. Lloyd died in 1972 while stationed in Seoul, South Korea as the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program.
