Halifax (Government House)

Government House, on Pleasant Street, is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Nova Scotia. It is a plain and massive old edifice, with projecting wings, built of the prevailing gray stone. This ancient building has been the scene of countless brilliant social occasions, brightened by the uniforms of officers from the garrison of from war vessels in the harbour.
