Barbara
Elmslie was born and raised in Montreal and has lived and taught
painting in Calgary, Alberta, Stratford, Ontario and Mississauga
Ontario.
Her training began with completing the Famous Artist's Course in
Westport Connecticut and continued with many workshops with professional
artists in both watercolour and pastel.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada
and her work is included in many private collections as well as
the Gulf Canada Collection.
Barbara Elmslie received an Honourable Mention for her work in the
Canadian Pastel Society Show in 1989 and also in the Central Ontario
Association Show in the same year. She is a member of many art associations
and has served on the Board of Directors of Visual Arts Mississauga,
The Calgary Society of Painters and is presently the President of
Arts Morin Heights.
