White China, detail-stainless steel plates, spoons, plates-18 cm diameter, text = The Lord’s Prayer in Chinese. White China is a work which presents the fragile psychology of a child subject to colonialism. This work invokes the memories of my years spent in a Catholic school in Hong Kong under the rigorous discipline of Chinese nuns whose goal was to indoctrinate me with Christianity. My parents however, only wished that I could learn English.
