Eaton's, one
of Canada's oldest nation-wide stores, closed it's doors in the
Fall of 1999. During one of its final days I entered the downtown
Vancouver store in search of bargains, but instead became enthralled
with the array of empty shelves, odd unsold items, and vacant-looking
mannequins. To me the scene symbolized the decay of consumerism
at the end of the millenium. During the next few days I visited
the downtown, West Vancouver, and Richmond, British Columbia stores
and took many photographs. These are just a few.
