In
the years following the completion of her Bachelor of Arts degree
in painting and etching at the Université du Québec
à Montréal in 1979, Renée Chevalier pursued
and completed a Master's degree of arts in 1988 under the direction
of the late Pierre Ayot.
As
part of her training, she spent time at the Banff Centre for the
Arts, Alberta, Canada in 1982 to pursue studies in lithography.
Since then, she has presented no less than eleven solo shows while
participating in another thirty group exhibits.
She has received many grants for her works, a number of which have
found their way into private and public collections, Lavalin Inc.,
the Musée du Québec and the Banque d'œuvres d'art
du Canada to name but a few.
As a visual
artist, she is an active member of the Galerie Verticale in Laval.
Moreover, she works as an agent in cultural activities for the Service
des Loisirs de la Ville de Montreal.
