From the past twenty years, Suzanne Dubuc is a well-known artist,
locally as well as internationally. Dubuc obtained a Bachelor in
Fine Arts (Painting) from the Université du Québec
à Montréal in 1976. She has received numerous grants
from the Canada Council of Arts (1978, 1986, 1988) and the Ministère
des Affaires Culturelles du Québec (1978, 1990, 1992). Her
works are found in prestigeous collections such as the Art Bank,
Ottawa; Gaz Metropolitain and the Prêt d'œuvres d'art of Musée
du Québec. She has participed in the Symposium de peinture
de Baie Saint-Paul, Québec in 1990. Dubuc has taken part
in Les Femmeuses, organized by Pratt & Whitney, Montréal
in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1994. She held solo exhibits such as
Art Contemporain du Canada (encan Ader Tajan), Paris in 1992,
at L'Espace Chapon and the Centre Culturel La Venerie in
Bruxelles. In 1995, a retrospective of her works from 1989 to 1994,
Parcours 1989-1994, took place at the Maison de la Culture Mercier,
Montréal. Suzanne Dubuc is represented by the Galerie Trois
Points in Montréal.
